Wonderful, downloadable radio broadcasts about great pianists

    Philippe Cassard is not only an excellent pianist, having recorded beautiful CDs, but also a really unique radio man. Every saturday morning, he is giving the "Portraits de famille" broadcast on the France-Musiques channel. During two hours, he talks about his passion for one or several pianists, and broadcasts magnificent recordings, either from commercial recordings (CDs, LPs...) or concerts recorded by the channel.
    - of course, he talks French, which can be an obstacle for some of PS members (but an excellent French, so it's good lessons ;));
    - but most of the time, we hear music, and what a music !
    Cassard has really an encyclopedic knowledge of piano music and pianists. Being a pianist himself, he has a very sound judgement about them, and he only presents people he likes. But he is at the same time very open-minded, and has the same admiration for very 'classical' pianists as much as others who have very specific styles.
    Among the pianists he has already presented, we find (from the most recently presented):
    Cyprien Katsaris, Samson François, Arcadi Volodos, Alicia de Larrocha, Artur Pizzaro, Emil Gilels, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Nathalia Milstein, Agustin Aniévas, Richard Goode, Lili Kraus, Géza Anda, Andras Shiff...

    I'm listening to one right now! It's playing in a streamed format (much like files stored on the PS server). I didn't set up anything to disguise my IP country/location so I assume others outside of France should also be able to hear the files.

    Dear François -- I just listened to the Gilels podcast; it really tested my competence in French (which is a good thing of course), but more importantly the presenter is so enthusiastic and passionate about the music and the performances are quite inspiring. Thank you very much!
