What is Dominant? How to make a dominant 7th chord in piano?

    I have learnt from internet about Dominant 7th and I really confuse with lot of theory I read recently. Please help me What is Dominant?How to make a dominant 7th chord in piano?

    Hello Claire,
    The dominant 7th is also called the minor 7th, that is a half-tone below the 7th degree of the major scale. If the fundamental is C, the (major) seventh is B, and the minor or dominant seventh is Bb. If you start from G, the 7th dominant is F. Harmonically, a dominant 7th chord is obtained by adding the dominant 7 to the perfect chord. C7 means C + E + G + Bb.
