francois streff is a pseudonym, my real name is Franz-Josef Streuff. I was born in 1931, along time ago. I have always enjoyed music very much. My compositions are partly traditional, partly in the style of the 20th century, in German I call it "freitonal". The first little piece "Für Annette" was written, when I watched my little daughter playing. The second piece is the first of four other little pieces dedicated to my good friend Klaus Herper. I am very sorry to say that he died a few years ago.
I will continue recording the following pieces.

    Streuff - Vier Klavierstucke - 1: Semplice ( 1:58 )
    Streuff - Fur Annette ( 1:56 )

welcome and thank you for sharing. My thoughts will be simple: I enjoyed your compositions; fuer Annette is my favorite of the two.

Will you share more with us?

I liked them both. Unusual/unexpected harmonies are attention-holding and intriguing, yet never abrasive/annoying. Good work!

Very nice pieces. I like them both very much, they are full of expression and soul and of a solide form IMO.

At I would like to inform you of a thing:
Franz-Josef Streuff is my former teacher and I told him of pianosociety. I showed him how to register and to post his pieces here. Today he called me up and told me, that his internet-access has broken, so he can´t connect to the forum.
I told him from the positive reactions of Nicole and Juufa72 and read their text to him at the telephone. He gave me the task to tell you the following:
He is very delighted about your reactions and he prepares more recordings for you with his Zoom H4, if he will be accepted as a pianist here. As soon as his internet-connection is repaired he will answer to your reactions himself. So he is sorry to ask you for some patience until he has again access to the internet.

Nice pieces indeed ! The first is maybe a bit academic in a style akin to Hindemith, but I do not find that such a bad thing.
I like the Spanish twists in the second piece, though they seem to be at ill ease with the jazzy main theme. The two idions do IMO not go well together.

Spanish? I thought it was quasi-Ungarnisch / Romanian...could be wrong. Reminded me a little of Bartok.

I must apologize for not having reacted to your friendly words (techneut/juufa/nicole/musicusblau) . First my PC didn't work, so it had to be repaired. Then we had a grill party with our children, grandchildren and friends; today when I wanted to continue recording two other pieces of my own my little grandson Till appeared and wanted to have fun in our swimming-pool. Now I really hope nobody will disturb me tomorrow! Thank you for your interesting comments. They were a very nice surprise to me and encourage me to continue. I am really sorry. francois streff.

I really liked your compositions, especially "Annette" with its lovely theme at 0'17!

I think you deserve a place between the other great Composers on the mainpage!

Looking forward to hear more of your compositions!
