    In my opinion Liszt's great masterpiece, and most distinct contribution to music. And funny enoguh, that this very piece sounds as if it was subject to a fair amount of Alkan's influences, although that does nothing to detract from the emotional genius of the piece.

    Edit: Not only that, but several parts of the piece remind me of Wagner's Brassin "Magical Fire Music".

    I think both of you make interesting suggestions, I think I've just lost my next few months to that crazy Grosses Konzertsolo. If I ever get it 'finished' I'll let you know ;o) Stranger things have happened I suppose...
