How do I get good at music composition?

    Do i just randomly scribble things in FL studio piano roll or muse score till someday after 10 years i magically understand it? I can't find any course on this it is just so ambiguous compared to things like drawing or learning instruments but seeing people do amazing things with just 12 notes keeps me going.

    I know basic music theory and while its quite helpful it doesn't improve my poor attempts very much.
