Hi there!!! I am new to this blog. I was one of the first members of chopinfiles.com, both before the havoc, and after chopinfiles.com "reloaded" haha... (although it seems it didn't last long). I really loved that forum, people were really charming, and the community forums were very cozy, but then the forum turned into disorder and so I left visiting, although coming back once in a while. Than after a long time I hadn't visited any more, and this last time I checked I was surprised to note that the server was down! (and for good...). So I searched google and found nothing, except this other forum called chopinmusic.net. There I read about what had happened to chopinfiles and that the two "new childs" of chopinfiles.com were now that forum and this one! (That's how I got here... it seems like a nice place ) I really miss the old forum. My nickname was also "Rod", I don't know if any of you recall. I usually wrote not so many but very long posts... I remember Robert (is 'robert' in this forum the same person?!), also SteinwayModelD, also a girl called ninjte, and another really great person which i used to email nicknamed natata (lost her track now...). Also there was i m robot, and may other great personalities that without looking at a name list i can't recall. Whatever happened to Lando?! I remember too we had a "Post your picture" post.. that was fun! Are any old chopinfiles members here?! Well.. stopping being noltasgic I hope this to be a great place! ... haha.. Hope everyone has a nice day, and later I tell you more about me, Cheers! Rod
Hi Rod. I definitely remember you and I am indeed the same Robert as on the Chopinfiles where me and nintje were moderators. Unfortunately, Lando just faded away and let the forum and site die. Not many of the old members are left and as we had to rebuild this forum from the original, very few of the old members are still members here. From the beginning, many of them were. I see nijntje from time to time on MSN but she has given piano up for World of WarCraft . One of the few really good female players. Nata moved to Moscow and since she moved, I have not heard anything. Malcolm moved to Spain or at least planned to do so and I lost track of him as well. SteinwayModelD, Koji, Paul Wee, Sun were all members in the beginning but resides more on http://whitekeys.com. Anyway, welcome!
Hi Robert! Sorry for taking so long to answer but I had a busy week full of work! ;o) For the amount of replies to this post it seems that very few chopin forum members have remained; however, I am very happy to talk with you back again, and really happy that you remember me! Hahah... you gave me a laugh about ninjte replacing piano with WOW! I remember we used to have funny discussions with her, and she usually posted her pictures. About Nata we used to write each other frequently. We even got to the point that she was teaching me russian by email and I taught her spanish! haha... However I also lost her track when she moved to Moscow. She was really busy and I received her emails every few months. Although I think she was really happy with the change. Then as our email exchange got so belated as we both were kind of busy... we stopped writing each other and then I changed my email and lost her track as I lost her email too in the old address book. If you her email please send me a private message with it, I would really appreciate it! ) I remember Malcom too! No one else from chopin files here?! I'll write again soon! Cheers Rod
I used to post at chopinfiles years ago...lol...I don't even remember what my screen name was. It wasn't Terez, I don't think - I'm pretty sure I hadn't gotten that nickname yet at that time. Good lord...I think that was in high school! Well over ten years ago!
Hi Terez! Thanks for joining in! I thought Robert and I were the only ones that knew Chopinfiles! haha Oh yeah... So much time passed! I was in High School too! haha But then again... thanks we have new forums! Cheers!!! Rod P.D: hey! it wasn't ten years ago.. you are making me feel old! haha.. the forum existed 4 years ago... didn't it? :?
I honestly can't remember how long it's been...I was trying to place the memory by association, and that didn't work. I know that I didn't have my own computer when I regularly (for someone who didn't have a computer) read the forum, and occasionally posted, and I know I was using my dad's computer, but that doesn't tell me when it was. And yes, I am the old one, apparently - I'm 29.
