Hi everyone, I've been working on another Children's Corner piece. Hoping for some feedback ... thanks!
This little elephant is getting really sleepy as the story progresses. It must be near or even way past its bedtime ! This being a lullaby I guess it is a very valid way to project it. Personally I'd go for a little more entertainment, but or course you can go many ways with a piece like this and there is no right or wrong. Technically I have nothing useful to say, I think it's all there.
LOL. Thanks for the reply. Funny thing is, I took a listen to your version and you went absolutely BONKERS when it sped up ... which I personally enjoy ... The thing is, I was doing that speeding up deal about a week or two ago. I pictured the "speed up" part as a nightmare, so I was also speeding up a TON to get that anxious quality to the piece. I played it for my piano teacher last week and she was like "oh my goodness your tempo is speeding up WAY too much" so I slowed it down ... I tried to maintain some sense of the nightmare-ish quality, though.
Where is the mp3? I was going to have a listen but it's not there anymore. Can you upload again, or did I just miss it? I was just remembering how I used to love my Debussy book and pulled it out the other day and played Le Petite Negre.
Hi echoyfeff, I've not played the Children's Corner as I was drawn more to some of Debussy's others pieces. Nonetheless, I think you've done a lot of work with "Jimbo's Lullaby". Sounds fine to me. David
