A few month back, I had the pleasure of discovering the classical music podcast Classical Music Discoveries (CMD). Based out of Southern Utah, the show is presented by Sandy and Ken Hedgecock and is hosted thanks to the Orchestra of Southern Utah. The show features local amateur and internationally acclaimed artists, composers, orchestras and special events hosted by the Orchestra of Southern Utah. Upon checking out the show and seeing them doing artists on a weekly basis, I contacted CMD and inquired about being featured in a podcast. Mr and Ms Hedgecock were kind to agree and grant me the wonderful opportunity to be featured on their world renown podcast. Effective today, the show is online and available for all to listen and comment. I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity and I would like to thank Mr and Ms Hedgecock about the wonderful opportunity. One can listen or download the show at: http://khedgecock.podOmatic.com/entry/2 ... 5_46-07_00 The show may also be downloaded on Itunes for your iPod, iPad or iPhone.
Hi Avguste. I'm thinking that perhaps you don't know this, but the Pianists Forum is actually for pianists who do not have recordings on PS. But I have an idea: Since you are so good at marketing yourself, how about donating to PS for this opportunity of free advertising that you have here? We are running a donations campaign right now, and did you know that there is a list on the homepage of all who have ever donated to the site (you know where I'm going with this... )? And to anyone else reading this - please make a donation to Piano Society today! Although our recordings are free to download and listen to, the server which hosts the recordings is not free and we need help paying for it. Thank you!
LOL I was actually aware of the board purpose, but I also know that this board is the most visited and the most read and the purpose of self-marketing is for the max people to read the news, read about the artist and be aware of the features and so forth. Nice idea about donations. Will donate when I can, given that I myself need to raise $7000 for my upcoming CD. And for the record, I am already contributing to the Piano Society by advertising it (including the site) on my bio, and all program concerts. And by giving out flyers for the book. More advertising=more potential members=more potential donations. As far as self-marketing, it is something that in my opinion takes place with more and more artists. And it is something that everyone should learn to do.
