Please have a listen and tell me what you think. Bach - BWV 863 - Das Wolhtemperierte Clavier I - Prelude and Fugue No.18 in G sharp minor
Very well played. I would prefer the prelude a little slower and the fugue a little less detached, but that is very personal. I spotted three read errors (at least deviations from the Urtext): Prelude, bar 18, you play a G in the RH which should be F sharp Fugue, bar 11, you play an A in the RH which should be A sharp Fugue, bar 37, you play a D sharp in the RH which shold be C sharp. Good voicing in the fugue, and I am happy to hear I am not the only one having problems with these impossibly difficult bars 32 and 33 In both P+F I would like a bit more involvement and phrasing. The fugue seems to lose momentum in the final bars and sort of peters out. Overall a good job though, and if you want this on the site, please provide your details.
Techneut, can you please specify which beat and voice each of these notes appear? I am having trouble identify them. BTW, I am using a bad Schirmer edition, so that may be to blame for the note deviations. Schirmer isn't particularly known to have the best editions.
And I would like to have this on the site. I PMed robert about it, but if you can get it up, that would be nice too. I am already on the site listed under "Huynh, L.". Thanks.
Sure. Actually in the prelude it's bar 15, not bar 18 Very first top note in RH is wrong. Damn, I need glasses. In the fugue, bar 11, it's the second beat, the second of the two sixteenths in the RH should be A sharp not A natural. In the fugue bar 37 it's the 2nd beat, top voice RH is C sharp not D sharp. Ah, I did not realize it was you. Too many people here called chopin-something
