http://savefile.com/projects/808488653 Listen and comment please. (If it is good enough, can it be placed under "Huynh, L." on the main site?) Thanks!
I just downloaded it from the link above. Try it again, but if it doesn't work, then try this link: http://savefile.com/files/712065 And the recording is pretty soft, so I recommend turning on the volume full blast to listen to it.
Ginastera Finally! It took a long time to download. Why? I don't understand why you did it this way. It's faster if you just upload directly through the Piano Society. Ginastera: What a nice haunting work. I thoroughly enjoyed it since I like the little Ginastera I've heard. You can certainly hear the Latin American flavor in this little dance. What was the tempo indicated for it? I believe you played it very well. I'd like to see the sheet music to this. Thanks for sharing this.
:!: For some reason I posted this earlier under the username 'asur'. I guess I forgot to log off after testing his account Masterfully played ! I could imagine a bit more freedom and burning passion, especially in the emotional middle section, it's kind of steady and controlled, but this is very well done on all accounts. Indeed this is one of Ginastera's most appealing piano pieces (and one of the most popular). Of course this is "good enough"... there's hardly anything to improve on it. We will certainly put this on the site. I was already wondering whether you'd ever be back ! Now go and record some more please
Why on earth do you use savefile with it's ridiculous slow download rate (and terrible pop-up advertisement windows)? It took me 9 minutes to download your recording while a 3.4 MB file normally takes me 2 seconds from Piano Society. Just use the "Add Attachment" feature. When the file finally arrived (I almost fell asleep before it did) it was very good. Not only technical but also musical. You seem to play it with passion and understanding of the piece and that is IMO very important. But next time, upload it directly in the topic .
I wasn't aware of the attach file feature that this site offers. Sorry for all of the inconveniences. I haven't been around much since I didn't have access for a piano for awhile. Thanks for all the replies.
You only need a computer to hang around here Anyway you have not been doing too badly despite being wthout a piano.
Do you want me to type up a short biography of Ginastera, as I do not see him in the composer's section?
Yes that would be great. I have already uploaded the mp3 but did not get around to creating the pages yet.
Alberto Evaristo Ginastera, 1916-1983, was an influential Latin American composer of Argentinian descent. This is all I have now, so I guess it will have to do. To tell the truth, I don't really know much about him, except what I read on wikipedia.
Whoa, I could have thought of that myself ... But thanks anyway. I will put this up the site tonight.
It's up. Now for a kind volunteer to provide a Ginastera bio and some text for the Argentinian Dances....
