Cool site from Northern Arizona University. The real-time visual representations of the fugues and how they work are fascinating and the analyses are stimulating and interesting, not your usual dry musicological insomniac cure. Analysis by Dr. Tim Smith and played by David Korevaar. http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~tas3/wtc.html
Should be mandatory reading. My jaw dropped when I first played the video of the c minor Fugue from Book #1. It was mesmerizing to watch the graphics traverse the score whilst simultaneously tracing the animated graphical analysis. This should be recommended viewing for every lover of Bach's music. Thank you for making this site available. Sincerely, Joe
Glad you guys like this! I love this site too, pretty amazing to see the themes shifting and juxtaposing. I've learned a lot from watching these.
Great link! Helps to phrase the fugue themes better, this visual aid is really helpful! What must that be a great deal to create such a helping tool!
