    Last sunday we had the great pleasure to watch a unique rendition of Bach's Goldberg variations on the German-French channel Arte. I like very much Alexandre Tharaud, whom I've seen in concerts several times. Here he dared to play this piece, partially inspired by Glenn Gould's famous renditions, but adding some flexibility, more ornamentation and giving a very authoritative version. Apart from the pianist, both sound recording and images captures are also top level in this broadcast. Enjoy !

    Hi François, I think Alexandre Tharaud is a great pianist. Underrated here in the U.S., but I hope he is big in Europe. I have his CD of the Chopin Waltzes. His touch on a few pieces in that album are unrivalled and irreproducible even if one tried. C'est incroyable! ~George

    By the way, could you catch the replay from the States? Not sure it works out of France and Germany...
