Pictures of Country Life Op.19
The Pictures of Country Life ("Aus dem Volksleben") is a set of three pieces, composed in 1872 and dedicated to J.P.E. Hartmann. Composed not long after the Piano Concerto, these three extended tone poems show a flamboyant virtuosity not often found in Grieg's piano music.
