Piano Concerto No.2 in B flat major, Op.83
In an uncharacteristic bout of high spirits, Brahms described his second piano concerto to his dear frield Clara Wieck as 'a little concerto, containing a tiny little scherzo'. Nevertheless, this concerto is one of the largest and most demanding of all piano concertos. It is the relatively leight-weight finale that leads some people to consider it inferior to his stormy first piano concerto.
