Dr. Daniel Goodman, pianist, studied physics and music at Princeton University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in plasma physics from MIT in 1989 and is currently the Director of Advanced Technology for Tokyo Electron - NEXX Inc, a company that produces computer-chip-making equipment. He regularly performs “Participatory Piano Recitals” in which the first half consists of classical repertoire and the second half contains improvisations on themes suggested by the audience during intermission in classical, jazz and folk styles. A video of one such concert is online at
Dan lives in Lexington, MA with his wife and three children.

Dan Goodman regularly performs with singer and narrator Jack McCreless. Jack sings and plays with the Revels Circle of Song, a touring ensemble that offers programs on the sea, harvest, immigration, and also performs with the Hutchinson Family Singers of New Hampshire.

Dan and Jack have enjoyed performing together for over 25 years. In the 1980's they performed international folk music and toured New England as musicians with the Mandala Folk Dance Ensemble. In the 1990's they formed a Klezmer and Jazz band named "Neshama." They also appeared together in the 1991 Universal Pictures film, "Once Around," which starred Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter. Piano Society is proud to present two of their joint effforts, a performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf in the seldom heard reduction for narrator and piano as well as Poulenc's "Babar the Elephant".
