Hi, I'm considering buying a baby grand in Austria, and I found two such offers: https://www.klaviano.com/pianos-for.../steinway-sons-steinway-sons-s155-414915.html A german baby grand piano or https://www.klaviano.com/en/pianos-for-sale/bosendorfer/170/bosendorfer-170-418349.html Bösendorfer grand is our factory from Austria. Is the quality similar???? Which one do you think is better for a beginner pianist who has a big apartment? Thank you for your advice. Frau Groschek
I am late on this... I tested the Bösendorfer 170 15 years ago at a piano shop in Paris. I remember that I liked it a lot and it was my preferred one in this shop (against Bösenndorfer 214 and Steingraeber 170). In my experience (I played several Bs and Es) Steinway is good for the audience, not so much for the pianist. The Steinway S, which I did never play, seems too short to me.
Completely different instruments. They could not sound or feel more comfortable unalike. Personally, in that size: the Bos. Much depends of course on the regulation and voicing of each instrument.
