This is one of my favorite pieces:
I believe I saw this when you posted somewhere else — was it piano world? I must say this is one of the best interpretations of this piece I've heard other than Horowitz. Great job, thanks for sharing.
PS — The 720p HD and the SM57s really work nicely. Lovely video and sound!
No other comments?
I had already commended your performance on another website, but do so here as well. Your playing is accurate, expressive and exciting in this etude. Very fine playing!
I was trying to figure out the piano. The swept-back angles at the very top of the piano arms in the case are found in Mason & Hamlin and also Baldwin. However, I've never seen a case finish like that in either of those pianos.
It's a Kawai I think...but I could be remembering that wrong.
I am sure you will receive more comments if you formally submit an mp3 of this recording as an audition, rather than linking it to Youtube.
Besides that minor "thing", I watched your video and I can say DAMN! You do have talent. Well done.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
And yes, my piano is a 25-year-old KAWAI KG-3D.
