This is me playing Kapustin Prelude in F major, Op. 53-23: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv3ZLN0pyVI
Thanks for watching my video! Hmmm, my name is Wiwi Kuan and I'm from Taipei, Taiwan. I'm 24 years old now. I'm now studying in TNUA Graduate School of Music, working on my master degree. I am also a freelance composer, arranger and piano instructor.
Welcome aboard. That was great playing of some great music. I loved it. I'm not familiar with Kapustin -- but I plan on becoming familiar with him. Only hope that I can get my chops back together to try his stuff. I hope to hear more. Scott
One of Kapustin's most attractive pieces, this one. I just find it a pity that everybody plays it so fast. Yes Kapustin writes very fast metronome marks but he is often quite a lot slower himself (and not for technical reasons because he can play as fast as he wants without missing a note). I find this prelude very lyrical, and it would IMO sound better when played slower and more relaxed. There's more to Kapusting than just the notes. This is just personal preference, no criticism on your consummate playing. BTW I wonder why Kapustin seems to be so much more popular in the Far East (Japan in particular) than here !?
