Two more of Bach's little known fugues, both on music by other composers. As well as composing, directing, playing, etc. he listened very well to what was going on around him and paid his tribute to fellow composers. It makes him all the greater and more human.

On the risk of being sentimental, I'd like to dedicate these to the memory of John Robson.

    Bach - BWV 951 - Fugue in B Minor on a theme by Albinoni ( 7:07 )
Bach - BWV 955 - Fugue in B flat major (arr. of an organ fugue by J.C. Erselius) ( 5:38 )

You are ever closer to a Complete Bach! 8)

To my simple ears, these sound well executed.

    Thanks for sharing.

I am very shaked by the news about John... What a big loss of all of us! I completely agree to the inscription on PS. He was not only a excellent musician, but also a man of a warm personality.
Thanks for these dedication recordings, Chris. John would be surely very pleased by these sublime pieces and your playing.

I almost missed these. I've never heard them before but I think you have done a beautiful job, Chris. Considering their length and density, I'd say you keep the focus really well.

Thanks for that. I guess these are early Bach works, not as splendid as his mature works, and maybe a bit overlong and meandering. I have a soft spot for them nonetheless, and have played these for a long time before committing them to disc (well, erm, SD card ;-) )
