    Hi all!

I'm often confused while sight-reading. I need recommended and proper beginner sight-reading studies, which are often used by piano teachers.

I haven't tried Czerny and Burgmuller studies. I don't know whether they're nice.

    Thank you all! :D

    Hello,

For sightreading help, use a collection of progressive pieces starting from relatively simple gradually becoming more advanced. *REMEBER* it is important to start simple! This will get your eyes used to always reading ahead of where you are playing. Hope this helps:)

this forum is kinda not very active, isn't it? :)
If the OP is still reading, Czerny and Burgmuller are good for technique but, even for the simplest pieces, they can be quite hard from a mere sight reading point of view for a beginner.
Luckily there are plenty of good methods for sight reading downloadable legally from IMSLP.
Each one of the following goes from very very basic to very very advanced.

    Manookian - Gradus
    Bartok - Microcosmos
    Schafer - Sight Reading Exercises
Mathews - Standard Graded Course Of Studies For The Pianoforte

also the following (which I haven't tried yet):
    Schmoll - Album de Lecture

    Cheers!

    Hi Kalos,
Those are definitly decent sightreading exercises--
If those don't work for you, just find a set of extremely simple pieces and work on reading ahead of where you are playing:)That's how I learned!
