Hello all, Last time I made a post was regards to Mozart's Fantasie in D. Well I played that for the piano group which I am a part of, and they enjoyed it even though I would've been torn a new one if I had submitted it to PS (*cough* Chris *cough*  ). Just goes to show how amateur we really are. Anyways. The next group meeting will have the same "Open" theme. Meaning we can play anything we choose. After hearing the recording of Schubert's Hungarian Melody D. 817; I want to play something by Schubert. I came across a late composition of his: 8 Écossaises D. 997 (attached). I can play this without any major issues. However, wikipedia reads that the Écossaise is known for its "proud rythm"... Are all 8 Écossaises played at a finger-numbing pace 140bpm + ?? What tempo and drive is approprate? Am I within reason to play at an "andante" pace? Thanks, -Confused
