Allow me to link to some videos of Berezovsky playing Chopin's etudes then immediately following, Godowsky arrangements.

Enjoy (but too bad the video quality is crap)

Berezovsky is amazing. This was done in all one sitting. He managed to play all of Liszt's transc. etudes in one sitting.

I watched that one on TV some years ago. Amazing feat indeed. He did leave out the Ricordanza though. probably too boring for him...

I just listened to the 10/4 because I'm very tired, and I've got that one on my mind lately, lol...he added embellishments even to the original, you know...but wow. I've never heard anyone play it that fast.

If you mean the Chopin original, Richter plays it faster. If you mean the Godowsky arrangement....then well yeah thats moving!

    Thanks for the contribution, JG!

PS I'm playing for a big wedding this Saturday, wish me luck! (This has to be one of the most nerve-wracking events in which I participate. The margin for error is exceedingly thin. (Which explains my charge). The Bride and Groom take that walk down the isle once and no more... per marriage that is!

    Pete :D

So he does. I was talking about some lower octaves that Berezovsky added to the Chopin original.

By the way...good luck Pete! I hate playing for weddings (I have played both piano and trumpet for weddings before, and hated both). I hope you either like it more than I do or at least are getting paid good.
