Hi! Here is my new recording of Dmitri Shostakovich - Concertino for Two Pianos, op. 94 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_uI0pKWumY
Thanks for introducing me to this likable work. I am a great Shostakovich fan but somehow had never heard of this one. Very well played from what I can hear, nothing to criticize there. But the sound... it is just terrible. Except in the quietest passages, it is clipping almost all the time. In the tutti passages it becomes quite unbearable. A shame that such a good show is let down by poor recording technique. With a lower input volume (and some discreet reverb, it seems a little dry now) this would have been a very good recording. A bit more subtlety in the page turns would be nice if possible. I know it can be very inconvenient, but better to leave out a few notes than to have to yank the page in a great hurry and make an ugly noise.
