And another thread ... no longer Scarlatti, but Something very different. A Scriabine's poem, Op. 72, more commonly known by its title "Vers la flamme". It was recorded during a live concert (Japan, 3rd August, 2004). Piano Yamaha S6 Best, Bertrand
I like the performance very much (less keen on the piano, which is a little abrasive in the treble). Some quite cavernous sounds in the bass towards the end. The performance is well-paced and captures the obsessive side of the material.
Hello Andrew, thank you for your mail! Yes, the piece has to become more and more obsessive when going on ... there is something relentless in this progression starting from nothing. About the way the piano sounds: I should say that the 2004 performance was not recorded by a professional team. May be this has some incidence on the way the piano sounds on the corresponding records. Thanks again. Best, Bertrand
Another beautiful recording - it seems you can only provide such pieces ! I am especially attracted by this late Scriabine style (as in the last sonatas), with this extatic mood and all these trills that are transforming the piano into a wind instrument. As soon as you provide the file with the right tag, I will be happy to upload it on the suitable Scriabin's page .
Hello François, thank you for your comment. However, I don't understand what is wrong with the naming? It seems to me that "72" is the right opus number of this poem? and that if an opus number is available, it is prefered to any other way to name the piece? Unless the problem is with the way to write the author's name: Scriabin/Scriabine? I have seen both speelings on scores, CD and so on ... But maybe have you chosen only one way to write the name? In this case, I will change all the names of the Scriabin(e)'s files I have posted up to now accordingly ... Thank you for all. Best, Bertrand
That's perfect ! The file is uploaded, you just have to put the link from your page to the Scriabine/Miscellaneous one. Regards,
Ok thank you François. But why in the "Miscellaneous" subsection, and not in the "Poems" one? "Vers la flamme" is the 20th (and last) Scriabine's poem ... All the best, Bertrand
Hello François, just to tell you that I have now posted a new version of all the pieces posted up to now, but with the relevant pieces of information in the tags. Each new post is in the original thread corresponding to each of these pièces. I posted each piece in its original corresponding thread, as it seemed to me that is was the better way to proceed ...
