Well, I'm out of coffee :) But I still thoroughly enjoyed this post. Much more accessible for me than the Webern. Although, I'm glad you posted them both. Good job!

Hmm, two more pieces to listen to this morn ... maybe I have a danish or something in the pantry! :D

As Nathan said, this is more accessible than the Webern. I've never heard this one either....I think. I would have to listen to this piece quite a few times or, better yet, play it myself in order to appreciate it. For me it requires a lot of analysis and repetitive listening. It sounds like you did a good job.

This is up, Chiara. And I'd like to say nice playing, but I don't know a thing about Schoenberg. And since you play so well, I can only trust that you played this correctly. :)

    I love this music. It's so...delightfully mad.

You convey the emotion so clearly.

Thanks to all of you. In fact this is "expressionist" music, but - in my opinion - there is not an actual "break" between expressionism and seriality. The latter is simply a consequence of the former... and that's why I think seriality (at least that of the Second Vienna School) may be so fascinating...
    ;-)
    thanx!
