I'll probably hate myself in the morning but here is a recording of me laughing at the Sarah Palin article. http://file.walagata.com/w/lapeter/R09_0015.mp3 Wait for the end, I practically give myself an aneurysm. Hear that wheezing? Asthma attack.
OMG - that's the funniest thing I've ever heard here! You should hear me laughing at you laughing! Are you okay after all that, Pete? I can send you some more Albuterol if you need more. Too funny....
No, I'm OK, I don't know why, the article struck me as the funniest thing I'd ever read. I had my Edirol sitting right in front of me, so I thought I'd capture the moment. Juuf, are you saying I'm a Democrat?!?
I didn't mention any names; just stated that 90% of the time the humor, jokes, insults, and political cartoons are aimed at opposing parties. Just look at the US media now that there is a liberal president and lefty house and senate. How many stabs and insults do you hear about the government? Hardly any. Remember when Bush first took office? It was a field day. One of the reasons why I choose not to watch or read the news. Because it is not news, rather it is partisan slander.
Come on Julius, Sarah Palin is really beyond good and evil, political opinions are not relevant here.
In fairness, Sarah Palin and Bush were very easy to mock. They can't go two sentences without saying maverick or nucular. Also, Bush had the nervous habit of chewing the inside of his cheek until someone told him to stop. And McCain? It was "my friendsh" this and "my friendsh" that. The satire practically wrote itself! O'Bama is so calm, cool and collected, he never misses a word so he's much harder to poke fun at. Not that MSNBC would ever think of trying. They are IN LOVE with the man and IN HATE with Bush. It's shamefully obvious. It's also shamefully obvious how Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are in hate with O'Bama. The news outlets I avoid are NBC and CNN, they just plain lie. Fox News is OK, but it is becoming quite unbalanced with the departure of Alan Colmes and the arrival of Glenn Beck, both of whom I like. It's becoming the "jilted conservative" channel. BTW, I think O'Reilly is a fair guy. I like ABC, I think they try, in their own sophomoric way, to do journalism. That's all OK, because I boycotted this presidential election. I couldn't vote for either ticket, on ethical grounds. McCain was too passive to be president, Palin was so grossly unqualified and O'Bama is far too progressive, IMO. So there's no blood on my hands. PF
