On a whim I just bought a Roland KR-5 from Craigslist that was originally purchased in 2005. The very nice guy listed it at $250. I asked him if he’d come down to $200 (I’m just used to bargaining on Craigslist). He said $225 was fine. He just wanted it gone from the basement where it had been sitting unused not long after he bought it. He didn’t mention how much he paid for it new. I liked the guy, liked the price, liked the sound and features and didn’t mind the size (bulkier than what I had in mind for myself), plus there’s just not many digital pianos for sale in my area so we shook on it and I’ll pick it up tomorrow. But holy crap, now that I’m learning more about it I might have gotten a real deal? If so I’m embarrassed that I talked him down $25 like a real cheapass. But maybe I’m wrong and it’s newer models that go for up to $1500? Lucky things like this never happen to me so I’m excited!
