Here I post the first mouvement of the Sonata for violin and piano, op. 18 by Richard Strauss.
Hope you enjoy it. The recording is from the same concert as the Mozart B flat major sonata, which I posted some days ago.
It is played by the Duo Froschhammer (Felix Froschhammer, violin; Julia Froschhammer, piano)

    Best regards

    Julia

Excellent! In general I do not like Strauss, but I liked this better than any other Strauss I have yet heard. The sound quality is remarkably good! What recording equipment did you use?

Thanks, thats nice. :D The recording quality is quite good, because it was recorded from the organization, where we played that concert. We were happy to have this, not always just the MD-recordings, we do ourselfes.
    All best, Julia

I never heard this before. This maybe a newbie question but, which Strauss is this? Junior or Senior?

yes I do. Not necessarily who you were alluding to, but the fact that your comment was way off in "left field" like mine. [example: My mother-"Julius, what are you watching?" (I was watching James Bond) my response-"A glowing box"] :?

Very good as the applause confirms and it is a pleasure to hear your very musical interpretations. Did you play or recorded the remaining two movements as well?

The recording (including Richard Strauss bio) is up on the site.

Richard Strauss: Sonata for violin and piano, op. 18, 1st m.

Thank you, Robert for the nice compliments and all the work, you did...

Yes, we played the whole sonata quite often, unfortunately not always recorded very well. But I have a Video-recording of the 3rd mouvement, which I could post, if my computer makes it. :)

    Best regards
    Julia :D
