Hello to everyone! Here are 2 pieces from Rachmaninov Opus 1 for four hands from the live recording concert performed in March previous year (2006). The quality of the recording is not the best but perhaps one can still listen to it.
Performed by Leonald Kaidja & Maarja Vaitmaa

    Op.11 - 4. Waltz
    Op.11 - 5. Romance

Thank you for these wonderful pieces!! I've never been able to find recordings of either. The quality isn't amazing, but it's better than you might think. They are played flawlessly as far as I know. Nice job!!!

Sorry for posting twice in a row, but isn't his first piano concerto Opus 1? I know that these are by Rachmaninoff, but does anyone know the opus number?

Could these be two of the pieces from his Six Morceaux, Op. 11?

The Waltz is number 4 and Romance is number 5 of Op.11. A certain reason why you picked these parts and skipped the others?

Very nice playing and you seem to be syncronised. Practised a lot? Perhaps a bit more drama would suite these romantic pieces but that is just a minor suggestion from my side. Overall, very good!

The recordings are up on the site. I added a new category named "Piano for 4 hands" as Rach composed 6 sets of music on the subject.

It's a shame about that clangy piano, but these are very well played. They sound like jolly good fun to do ! Rachmaninov in high spirits it seems. And nice to have them on the site. Any more where that came from ?

Thank ou for all Your comments. We have been rehearsing the piano ensemble with Maarja for particular concerts. It is a good change for solo performances. We did play Rachmaninov Op. 11 a year ago , but that was not the most successful performances of ours. I also put up the Barcarole from the same opus, but in advance I do appologise for minor slips and the bad quality of recording.
