In some ways, this is a follow-on to the "where is everybody" posting, but since it's more of a personal note, I thought I'd separate it.

Shortly after making the Schumann recordings, I fell on the ice and injured my shoulder. I was excited about making more recordings, but that's been put on hold. There is a lot of material that I'd like to record, including the rest of the Kinderszenen (you convinced me that I should do the complete cycle). But that will have to wait.

My biggest concern is that this will last into the summer, since it's very difficult for me to practice and record in the hot, humid weather. But don't worry, I'll be back.

Sorry about your accident. It must be torture not being able to practice piano. I truly hope you get better soon.

That is already a while ago IIRC. Is it getting a bit better already ? Injuries like that can take some time to disappear indeed... I guess no Islamey for you for a while yet
But do be back, and keep posting !

Hmm, seems to me that ice and shoulders are always the culprit. A while ago my mother slipped on snow-covered ice (outside  ) and busted up her shoulder. Required a little bit of phyiscal therapy to help her get back to normal.

It will be nice to hear your complete cycle of Kinderszenen.

Don't force any progression on your shoulder, that's when you can screw it up even more.

    Take care.

    -Juuf

p.s. I hope you have another hobby because being on the injured list and not having anything else to do must be murder!

Thanks for the concern! It's been about six weeks--three weeks seeing how much it would improve on its own, and three weeks (so far) seeing a physical therapist. There's definitely been improvement, but not as much as I'd like. I'm not pushing it (though I did have to play a church service a couple of weeks ago).

    I'll be back...

Hang in there, Mike. I injured my left arm a couple years ago, so I know how you feel. Get well soon!
