    Hello -
I would like to be considered as a pianist with the Piano Society. Here is my 2nd submission, a recording I made (this week) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Prelude No 4 Op 23 in D Major in MP3 format at 192 kbps. The piano is the Garritan Steinway Model D "Classic" mode and it was played via an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88.

    Regards,

    Frederick Johnson

Hi and welcome to Piano Society, Frederick. I've only listened briefly to this recording here and will try to find time later to listen to the rest. So far, so good, but can you please convert your three files to a kbps less than 220? Most of us use kbps 190 or lower. 320 is way too high and we need to conserve bandwidth.

Thank you. I have resubmitted all three files as 192 kbps MP3 files. Please let me know if you need something smaller still.

    Regards,
    Frederick Johnson

    Hi Frederick,

I've also recorded this prelude, so am well familiar with the piece. You play this late romantic work very well and with expression in my opinion. I especially liked your timing and execution of the climax. Very good and convincing!

Thank you David. I love Rachmaninoff's less flashy (but more musical) works like this Prelude and although it's a bit indulgent, I never grow tired of playing it or hearing it played. When I have finally saved enough pennies for my Estonia L168, I will record this on a *proper* piano but for now, this will have to do. 8) Thanks again.

    Frederick
