I'm new to this board and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a pianist, teacher, writer, and recording artist who graduated the NYC HS of Performing Arts and the Oberlin Conservatory. (Performance-Piano) For the past several months I have been blogging about things piano at http://arioso7.wordpress.com My posts cover technical aspects of playing such as Legato to Staccato scales; contrary motion scales; arpeggios; "From Chords to gym and back. (a bit humorous with some work-out footage tied in) etc. Interspersed video performances embedded in my writings (Scarlatti Sonatas, etc., works of Mozart, Beethoven etc) and others; short stories with a humorous dimension.. always about the piano. One that stands out is "Funeral for a Cracked Plate," with many attached photos: http://arioso7.wordpress.com/2010/12/10 ... at-emptor/ I look forward to being part of the Piano Society Community and sharing back and forth about our beloved piano. Just as an aside, I was fortunate to have attended the Performing Arts HS during the years Murray Perahia was a classmate. His influence on so many of us was pervasive. Hi Shirley, Are the recordings @ cdbaby.com from an electronic piano? It just doesn't sound natural to me.
