For my music theory class we were assigned a melody to harmonize for piano (four voices). I suspected it was from Schumann and got the professor to 'fess up. Attached is my harmonization. Ignoring the lower three voices, can someone tell me the original piece from which this melody comes?

To be honest, I don't know. I'll have to scan my books for it. Sounds like an albumleaf of Tchaikovsky's???

Can't tell either the origin of the melody.

However I really like your harmonization, sounds very good to me!

Okay, we got an "answer key." Turns out our assigned melody was taken from the first of the Op. 99 Albumblätter. Thanks for playing, and now I have to find something new for the game thread. :)
