Yesterday I had the pleasure of playing in the yearly family concert of my violin partner. It's a musical family in which most people play one or more instruments and/or sing. I played this quartet part with my violin partner and his son and brother. We had about an hour of repetition beforehand. I think it came out really well even if not totally perfect (like some some fumbling on my part when I had to turn several pages back for the first repeat). This is not for the site I think, but I hope it can be enjoyed.
Just listening to it. It is enjoyable indeed and very well performed considering the little time you had to rehearse. Well done, I certainly like it.
Chris, give yourself and those musicians some credit. This is a very nice recording and for those musically numb (like me), a recording worthy for the main site. When are the other movements going to be posted? Leaving us with just one movement is like foreplay without the big bang!
Hey Juuf, where have you been all the time ? Sure, these are reasonably good string players and the performance has many nice moments. I'm not sure they would want it to be published though. This was a one-off occasion, no plans to complete the quartet. We could only do this because Alex's son was over from the USA for some days. We may want to look into playing some trios in the near future.
Oh, you know, up to the usual stuff: womanizing, enjoying a fine drink, travelling. Hmmm, sounds like I've lived the life of a sailor without setting foot on a ship. Good thing my talk isn't as dirty as those sailors.
