Recorded today during the annual house concert of my viola partner and friends, the first mvt. of Mozart's famous quartet. A bit of a chance ensemble, we had only played this two or 3 times before, and that was without the celllist. Not the ultimate in refinement, but the ensemble playing is pretty tight. I like the way the cello blends in with the piano to create an orchestral-sounding canvas.

    Mozart - Quartet in G minor KV 478 - 1: Allegro

Also from the same concert, first mvt of the Sinfonia Concertante for violin, viola and orchestra. This did not come out as well as the quartet, it was also not rehearsed very often, and pardon some slips in the piano reduction (by one Michael Töpel), which is pretty grueling in places.

Mozart - Sinfonia concertante in E flat major KV 364 - 1: Allegro maestoso

We had great fun with these, I hope they can be enjoyed despite the flaws (and the f***ing dogs taking part in the Sinfonia).

Only had time to listen to two minutes-worth of each piece. The piano sounds good, as does the overall balance. And sorry, but that barking dog cracks me up.

What fun to play some chamber music! I enjoyed listening very much. Shame on those dogs.

Yes the little bastards :x I had hoped they'd been brought somewhere else for the afternoon, but no such luck. But actually they were surprisingly good except in the Sinfonia which they don't seem to like much.

Very well done! Of course there are things to improve but you catch the spirit very well. The barking dog...wouldn't it be let in? ;) It was also interesting to try to understand the chit-chat going on after the performances. To me it sounded like a combination between Dutch, German and English.
