Magnard - Promenades

    Hello,

    I was just wondering how come these wonderful pieces (and composer) are not really known and were recorded only once or twice? They sound very impressionistic. Have you ever heard of them or played them?

    I took a look at this unknown-to-me composer's score as recommended by the poster and must agree. I see very idiomatc and artistic writing and predict some future postings by members as a result.

    Frankly, I have a habit of checking today's anniversaries of events and birthdays on Wikipedia. I did this also yesterday and found Magnard's page. :)

    Thanks for the link. It's an interesting piece - not overly difficult and not very long. My kind of music! :)
    Now if I could just find more time in the day; I've so much great music sitting on my piano right now...
