As all words. You explain Wandern very well. It was just what I wanted to say but lacked the words.

IMHO your explanation wasn´t bad, but quite fitting and expressing the right feelings. I actually didn´t want to "correct" you or something like this. I just liked to add some of my personal thoughts.
I just would like to add, that both, "wandern" and "Angst" have a normal meaning in the sense of simply "to walk" and "fear", which is used in normal german language and they have this special meaning, if we are talking about the romantic epoque. Whereas in English, if both german expressions are used, it´s only in the special romantic meaning. (What a luck, that we germans are in mind in a romantic sense in foreign languages. )

I actually meant that you explained it all better that I could have done. Having spent time in Germany I did have occasion to use such words in their normal way, though I did notice that wandern seemed used more for walking outside the city, while in the street it seemed one could only laufen. And, of course, I do remember, "Hast du Angst vor..." and so on.

    Hi Richard,
oh, I see, you know something about German. Yes, "wandern" is used more for "walking in the nature", whereas "laufen" is more general used for "to move by means of feet". And the english word "walking" in German means a kind of sporty acitivity, going in a faster tempo of steps with a stick in each hand. (I hope the site-admins don´t mind, that we are going a bit out of topic here. ;D)

Hello David, I thought I was listening to Op. 8 of Scriabin had I not reread the title. The Russian genre has an unmistable epic grandeur that you always seem to understand and capture effectively. Thanks for the introduction to this composer. The Baldwin sounds nice, however, it was mentioned earlier that you favored the hammers when it was first installed. Then ask the master technician to fluff them up to factory specs as opposed to describe what sound you want to achieve. This way, he/she has a physical reference as opposed to experimenting with uncertainty. This will relieve your fears.

Well neighbor, I hope all is well in Maine. I try to get to Cape Cod as often as I can during summers. But, one of these days I am going to get to Acadia in your neck of the woods. Best wishes to you and your family in the new year. ~George

    Hi George,

Glad you liked the Kosenko etude and thanks for your compliments. I'm trying to make ready a third Kosenko piece for recording. The Baldwin is being tuned tomorrow, so the recording opportunity is close at hand (I hope). Tomorrow I can discuss the voicing for sure.

Thanks for listening! Happy New Year to you and yours!

    David
