There is some music that you just can't get out of your head. This one piano/organ duet by Jim Riggs is one of them. It's not in the classic style, but it has the sound and sensation of a romantic piece. A piece that is already on the site that I think has a similar style is Billy Mayerl's Autumn Crocus which Chris has played.

Without further ado, here is June Night:

Isn't it lovely? Youtube has a lot of videos, here is the orchestral version!:

and if you are really bored and don't mind excusing the fact that I don't play this on a wurlitzer  take a listen to this, a long time ago I tried to imitate Jim Rigg's version on a MIDI keyboard (bells and all!):

Have a great June Night!

    Hi Riley,

It's a June morning for me right now, but I still enjoyed this. I've never heard this piece before; it takes me back to the 1920's. Jim Riggs must have a lot of fun producing these videos. All those knobs and levers.....oh, I would go crazy and never want to stop playing! And wow, Riley, your version is a lot of fun to listen to as well!! Great job!! I like to learn of our PS members making interesting videos like this. Thank you for sharing and starting my day off nicely! :)

I like your version better than the one by Riggs.
I think it's slightly too slow though, and the tempo seems to sag once or twice. But it's nicely done.

    @ Monica

Glad you enjoyed it and it took you back in time  another composer that this type of music reminds me of is Gershwin. He seemed to create an interesting mix of jazz and classical in his oeuvre, as you know, having played him 8) Also made a big contribution to music theatre/opera.

    @ Chris

 I am shocked you like my version more than Riggs! I'll take the compliment, but I think Riggs version is much better. And yes, the tempo sags in many places. I realize now that I missed a lot of the counterpoint of the piano roll :x well, anyways, glad you enjoyed it.
