    A friend just sent me a link to an interview with James Rhodes. He sounds like an interesting character. Has anyone heard him play? The clips on his web site and on YouTube aren't substantial enough to give much of an impression.

    What a bizarre coincidence. I hadn't heard of him till yesterday, when a friend mentioned him (albeit in quite unflattering terms which did contain a reference to David Helfgott). Listened to a few of the youtube clips, my conclusion would be he's better than Maksim Mrvica (damning with faint praise :) ) and worse than the best pianists on this site. Isn't fame a funny thing?
