I would like to add, that at the end and sometimes between we are not ideally together. I can edit this also. I think, even if we rerecord, we always will have more or less little problems with the synchronization, which at last has to be done by editing in every case.

Looking back at what we were saying at page 1 of the present thread, I think we can be pretty satisfied with what we've done so far. Honestly, at this point a new recording would seem to me really paying over the odds for that poor Romance. Andreas, I believe that synchronization is the last of the problems. The lesson I've learnt is that is not so difficult to stay in-sync, and anyway a moderate amount of out-of-sync is not bad. In my opinion the major flaw in our performance is the exceeding rigidity, which unfortunately cannot be post-produced.

So, rather than recording again the Romance I propose to record its sibling Valse (see the attachment). This time the process would be quite straightforward: Terzo records first, Secondo follows and then Primo. How about it?

Wow, Andreas – sounds like you are having a lot of fun with that equalizer.

So, ok....now about this fourth version. I think it sounds a little clearer except that there are a few bars where your bass is practically undetectable. It starts at 20 and goes until bar 25. I can hardly hear the low octaves. Other than that, I hear a synchronizing problem at bar 33 and also on the very last bar. Everything else sounds fine to me.

Alfonso – I am usually up for practically anything, so I would love do to the Valse next. Makes sense do to the companion to the Romance. But I’d like to also keep the Romance and put both of them on the site (when they’re finished).

Which part should I play on the Valse? Andreas - are you in?

    Hi Monica, Andreas and Alfonso,

I listened to the finished recording just now. Bravo! The playing, balance, synchonization, blending of the pianos, and expressiveness were all extraordinary. It was truly amazing. Congratulations! (Yikes, I'm glad I didn't bet money that this remote-collaborative recording couldn't be done. It was done, and so beautifully too.)

Thank you, David, for the compliment. :D

Monica, I will try to improve the points you mentioned. I would like to work a little bit on the synchronization. (It´s not a big problem.)

Alfonso, to record a new piece is a fine idea. Now it´s 8 o´clock morning and I will go to school. This afternoon I will look at the score, but in every case I would like very much to do this with you and Monica. I like these kinds of experiments! :D

Of course, I didn't mean we should discard the Romance. On the contrary, for me it's already good enough for the site.

What about sticking to our past roles? That's a sensible layout to pull out the best of our own instruments.

I´ve printed the score, looks nice. So, I shall take the bass-part (piano 3) again, o.k.?

First off - David, I second what Andreas said. Thank you for listening!

Alfonso - ok, I'm printing the music right now as I type this. (what are those slash marks for on every page?)

Andreas - Yes, you take the bottom, Alfonso takes the middle, and I take the top. I'll start practicing my part today.

Here's another idea (now, now...I hear you groaning. This is just a silly idea) We need a name for ourselves. Something like the "Italian, German and American Trio" (not very original) or The Long-Distance Trio, or.....can't think of anything else this second and have to drive my son to school now.

Yipie, here comes the final version of the Romance. Please, tell me you opinion/last wishes of changes! (Only of last changes, not last wishes generally. )

Monica: May be we are the Ameritagerman-Trio or so. (I will think about a name.)

The slash marks separate each line of the grand staff of the three piano parts.

I'm going to look into it by Monday. You'll forgive me, Monica, since these days I'm pinning down the Chopin Nocturne we talked about recently.

    GROAN! :p

Well...Andreas, I hate to tell you this, but your previous versions were better than this 5th one.

There is an obvious edit clip at 1:27, but at 2:35 and also 3:40 the overall sound changes drastically. Like it is different pianos. Must be something that went wrong with the equalizer settings, I dunno. If you are getting tired of doing this, I think we can keep version 3 or 4 (not sure which one right now - have to go back to listen if you want me to).

Don't worry, Alfonso. I just looked at the music for about five seconds this morning, and now I'm running late for my lesson, plus I'm hoping to record something else later today. Oh, and Sunday I'm going to see Evgeny Kissin perform! I'm so excited!!! So anyway, Andreas has to record his part first, right? And then you and then me.

Andreas - that's not a bad name, I guess. Keep thinking....

But I know what we could definitely call ourselves for just the Romance - we are 'The Long-Distance Romance'. (I know....double groan! )

O.k., o.k., I just played around a bit with my new equalizer. My intention was to bring out the tenor in the middle-part more than in the other parts, but I have to admit, it´s a quite big change of sound-colour.

Now I have made a real final version with uniform equalizer-settings. The fifth respective the sixth and last version now are improved concerning the synchronization (I have worked nearly two hours on this. This was the greatest fumble-work in my live until now.) So, please, don´t take version three or four for the site. I have deleted the last editing-clip, which you have heard at 1:27.
I think, this last sixth version is the best.

    Dear Ameritalgerms,
what do you think of this name: [IMG] or [IMG]
(or [IMG], but that´s only something for the brackets [IMG])

Monica, I have a question: Would it be possible to change something in the settings of your Edirol for our next recording, so that we won´t have any background-hiss. I had to take X-noise (a noise-reduction) for to get this out of our record, but that´s the reason, why the sound of your piano is a bit muffled.

Amerital Germs is even better. Chris will isolate this thread and put us in quarantine.

Andreas, this last version is fine for me. And thank you very much for the great amount of work you did.

There's an error: you somehow duplicated the string "http://".

Argh, we've created a monster!

Ok, we are the Amerital Germs!

(dang it, I'm trying to find a certain smiley and i can't)

Oh, well....Andreas - your no. 6 version is The One! Yay!!

I too thank you from the bottom of my heart for the time you put into this project. If it makes you feel any better, when I first started this administrator job, I was also on my computer for hours at a time trying to figure things out. Sometimes it still takes a while if my internet is acting up.
