It's too good to be true!
Thanks for the information, Pete.
You know... I'm actually a little suprised that I manged to survive this long without the IMSLP... but when it finally comes back... will I end up just as addicted as before? Or will I be able to continue a life free of IMSLP??? It's an interesting idea... I don't really know how much I'm going to need it anymore...
Oh well. Perhaps there will be something new on the IMSLP that cause me to need it again. But as of now... I actually think I'm all set! I wonder... how will the rest of the world respond to this?
Wow this is great, I wish I had this when I was growing up as a kid. I remember having to travel downtown by bus to the music stores and finding little -- not always knowing what to look for or not having enough money as a kid. My public library never seemed to have what I was looking for.
Good news.Great to have such a resource coming back online.
Me too! The people at my library were like "Chopin? Is he German?"
You should see the library I used to go untill some years ago. They don't even have any musicbooks there.
My library has no sheet music. It barely even has any CDs! Seriously... the classical piano section has maybe 10 composers in it. And 3 of them you almost wouldn't expect to see in such a limited collection: Shostakovich, Satie, and Bartok. There isn't even any Rachmaninoff!!!
Libraries carry musicbooks? like sheetmusic?? I've GOT to get out of louisiana someday
Tell me about it.
Yes. Aren't there any musicbooks (sheetmusic/books about music) at your library? Poor you.
I finally escaped...and, boy, was I glad I did. I lighted out just before Katrina struck. I miss the people, though, and the bayou has its own peculiar beauty to it that I enjoyed (I lived in Lafayette). The music sections of the Texas libraries are much better then the Louisiana ones, I will have to say!
Sarah from Lafayette... surprised we never ran into each other.
Well...you never know. We might have!
I was just in Ville Platte over the weekend. Talk about the bayou.
Wonder what scores IMSLP will have available.
It's back up!
