    no, not for that!

I feel like doing another multi-player recording. Four-hand, six-hand, eight-hand, whatever.... I don't really care. I just need something else to do/play. Anyone here interested? There is no rush. And we can turn it into another video too, perhaps. I liked doing the Rachmaninov videos.

    and one 3-hand.

    or for that: [IMG]
    or for that: [IMG]

I´m sure it must be the last one. But Monica, I am [IMG]

Well, let´s take the three hand piece, Felipe. We are three persons and each of us could play one hand, that´s evident, isn´t it?

The problem is, that I have too much corrections of papers now and I only could start, if I have corrected all of them (I suppose about end of october). So, feel free to choose a two hand piece for you two, if you would like to start immediately. (For each one hand, it´s logical, isn´t it? )

If we do it together I have a suggestion: We all do video-record us and then I will make a nice collage respective mixture of us three sitting at the piano and playing the piece we have choosen.

I also do not know how we could join those tracks. I think I can join up to 4 tracks in my Zoom H4 (which means that... if played by two people, I can get the first track and record the second one while listening to the first), but this is not possible with H2 or Edirol (I think).

of course, there is Andreas for doing a hard job joining them on computer... a thing I really don't know how to do (nor I have any patience... heeh)

    Hi Felipe,
you can do a multi-track-recording in your Zoom H4. You can put every stereo file into one file and use it again as background, so theoretically the possibilities concerning the number of tracks are endless.
I have also done it with my H4, with H2 and Edirol this is not possible.

Well, if we do it as "Trio", everyone should record his/her part while listening to the others, except the first player, of course. Please, see our topic of Rachmaninof six hand pieces, how we have done it with Alfonso. (I think, Monica has used an mp3-player or so while recording and listening to the others, isn´t it?)
I do put together all three tracks with the Audio-Montage-Window of WaveLab. It´s a lot of fumbling around, but at last it worked.
With the videos I would like to try a hot collage or so, would be an interesting experiment for me.

But remember, we can´t start with me until end of october.

    that's why I said...
without you, with only one Zoom H4, it's only possible for 4-hand pieces (something like: Monica plays, send to me, then I put into my H4 and record the other part).

for more people together, we miss you, Andreas!
    hehe

Haha – I’m eating a hamburger right now as I am typing this. But I worked out hard today, so it’s okay.
And when I say 'in the mood", I mean this:

But that's not what I'm in the mood for right now. At least it wasn't until I started talking about your Satie.

Yes – but what I do is take someone’s file, sync it to one of the other parts, save it so now it is only one file, and then play that on my ipod while I then record the third part. Does that make sense? Then ultimately I can again sync the three parts together with an editing program – I think that is what Andreas did. I’m getting better at doing this, but I’m sure Andreas does it best.

Oh, Andreas – you are a little naughty! A hot collage? Meaning, we all have to wear something sexy? Okay, I have one or two things I can put on for the video! LOL
Seriously though – a video would be very cool!! That’s a great idea!!!

Ok, I’ll start looking for some six-hand pieces. It may take a while to find the right one, and anyway we may need time to practice our parts. It doesn’t matter when we do this. I'll let you know what I find.

oh! I though only Andreas would do it.
if you can sync it also, it's okay!

I checked IMSLP and I could find only this:
    http://imslp.org/wiki/The_Stars_and_Str ... no_6_hands

There is also Cznery Variations on Bellini

Yeah - I saw those also. But I'm looking for a six-hand piano piece by Percy Grainger (starts with a Z - can't think of the title right now). It's a pretty piece but may be too easy for us. However, we may not want something too hard and definitely not something very long if we are making videos. The file sizes would be too large. I have not heard of the Czerny Variations, but the Stars and Stripes might be fun. And at least with a march we don't have to worry about rubato!

    Well, it's a start - keep looking....

Edit - just found something by Manuel de Falla that looks interesting... "Nights in the Garden of Spain"

Oh, that´s really seductive, I have to admit. (BTW, I do miss the hot word I have read here today in the morning and which you mentioned in my Satie-thread. Did you delete it? )

Oh, thanks for the compliment, Monica. I think you do right like you describe it above, but if you like I can try to do the sync for you.

Naughty, why? I was only thinking of hot hamburgers!  Seriously, under a hot collage I imagined a racy cross-fade of the videos of us or something like this, I didn´t think of clothes, you know , but on a racy cool film-technique. (I´m just a man  )

That´s a very good idea. And I´m glad, if you do the search, because if I also want to (re-)record something solo, I have to care for this, and so I have more time for my papers.
(Stars and stripes...hm...I don´t know. De Falla sounds better.)

Well, I just got done eating some spaghetti. Is that better? No drinking until later tonight, though.

And Andreas - I really would not know anything about syncing videos, so you can be in charge of that if you want to.

As far as music goes, I'm still searching. Can't find very much. I may have to actually purchase a book from a company in Europe so it will take a long to until I receive it. Do you guys have any other ideas?

Gloves - okay, we can all wear just one glove and be like Michael Jackson!

Until now I have no other idea. But sounds interesting, which book from which company in Europe is it? Could be, that I´m a bit nearer to it.

Better not, I want to live still a bit.

you know what he said? "Who's dead?"
he also looked at his heart and said: "Beat it!"

    sorry for all that! hehe

is it a book with lots of 6-hand pieces? or you just said you need to buy a book, and this has nothing to do with the topic?
it would not be cool to spend money only to record a 3-minute-6-hand piece... hehehe

anyway... I'm downloading Czerny's score in eMule. he wrote lots of 6-hand pieces, so we could choose some.

    ahahaha....

The book is published by Schott (somewhere in Europe) (here is the link: http://www.schott-music.com/shop/Sheet_ ... 41102.html) and the piece is titled, "Zanzibar Boat Song". Since the book is only 12 pages, then that must be the only piece in the book. But like I said before, it may too easy for us. Also, I'm a little leary about recording something that may not be in public domain. Don't want Boosey & Hawks coming at us again.

the other book - the de Falla - I don't know what happened but I can't find it now. I swear I saw it on the Internet last night. Weird - and it had such a nice title too! Well, maybe it will pop back up tonight. Have to do some work now, so I can't look now.

Felipe - what is eMule? Can you show me a link to those Czerny pieces?

    Get your glove ready! hehe

eMule is a P2P program (someone share files, and the other one downloads them). Czerny is a very "old" composer, so probably everything is in public domain (even if downloaded from eMule, hehe). but if you are worried about it... there are lots of stuffs not in public domain in PS. Almost everything by Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Scriabin, Ravel, Villa-lobos, Guarnieri, Siloti, Schoenberg, Bartok, Cohen, Ornstein... depending on the law of each country.

I can try to download these Czerny pieces, then I send you by e-mail.
anyway... I added you on MSN. do you use it?

Let's not talk about the public domain issue - too scary....

emule - I never knew about that site before. I briefly went to it just now and see that you have to download something first, right? Is it something big? I am quickly filling up my computer already and have to watch what I download, or else delete a bunch of stuff. Also, is there very much sheet music offered? I don't know how to check that without downloading the program.

Yes - please send me whatever you can. But are you talking about the variations that are on ISMPL?

msn - yes, I do use it, but not everyday. If you need me to be on at a certain time, just let me know so I can open it up. But not tonight because 1. my husband is home, and 2. one of my favorite TV shows is on tonight. I have more time tomorrow, so then I'll turn on msn and take you on, or add you in, or...whatever you call it....

    1) yes, you need to download the program. it's not big. I use eMule for downloading music, but there is also sheet music there. generally they are zipped by composer. you download one or two zip files with a lot of scores by a given composer. I'm downloading Czerny's... but I don't know if I'll find the 6-hand pieces there

    2) no, I didn't find any 6-hand Czerny on IMSLP...

    3) no problem. I just added you to increase the number of on-line friends, no matter whether I talk to them. 8)
