It's a selection of 12 LPs. The very first and the last one, which shares the same theme, and one from each of the ten books of LPs. I'm soon recording the final two.

Ah yes, it's one of the most famous LP.

No, it was 500+ kms away from here.

Gosh Felipe, I often agonize to choose what I want to play. But, really, go to IMSLP and have a look by yourself. I believe that Triakontameron is definitely stuff for your taste.

That's great Andreas! Chris and I have done only seven of them, and Alfonso is adding two more so there are still plenty to choose from.

I have printed out nr. 5 (Dämmerungserscheinungen), 8 (Eine Watteau-Landschaft), 13 (Das tanzende Vindobona) and 27 (Klage). I´ll play a bit around with these pieces and then I´ll choose one of them.

I have downloaded Scherbakov playing all the Trikontameron (oh! sorry! this is piracy... I haven't downloaded... in fact I bought... )
Really great music. Definitely, I will buy this CD later.

I have listened to an excerpt of all them, and excluding those pieces already recorded, or those which have already been reserved by you and Andreas (hehe), I chose these numbers:
    4, 7, 14, 20

I haven't even seen the score of them yet.
I can't promise anything, since I'm busy with other stuffs right now, but I do think I will study them.

Great - we have more Triakontameron on the way! This should make the set about half-way filled. Still not sure if I will do any more - I have to check out the remaining ones.

Andreas - that no. 5 the D one is a very long word! But I am a little used to that - especially from being in some restaurants in Germany. Talk about long words!

I took 4 months of German lessons.

In this short time, I could learn how to say the number 68. 8)
But I must confess it took me a full week of intense practice to be able to pronounce "Achtundsechzig".

I was very stupid first, because I did get, that you refer obviously to the title of this piece (Dämmerungserscheinungen), so forget what I have written at this place yesterday. Yes, long "compounds" are a delicacy of German language, I think.

BTW, I have started to practise on nr. 13 and 27 today and it´s really a pleasure. I like these piece and had a good feeling to come in today.
It´s really good, that I have Easter-vacations now, so I have a bit more time than usual.

"Sixty-eight" isn´t much easier for me, only a little bit, because there is no "and" between the two numbers.  (And, concerning the numbers, English is a real puzzling "reverse"-language for us poor Germans. )

I have edited my last reply to you, Monica, above, because first I haven´t got, that you were refering to the title of this piece, but I thought you mean the piece itself, so that the piece nr. 5 would be like a long word to you. Sometimes I really seem to be a stupid donkey.

Don’t worry Andreas – I am a stupid donkey more than just some times and it is within my own native language.

And yes – I meant some German words, especially those found in German restaurant menus are a mile long! When I was there and a waiter was taking my order, I many times just pointed to an item in the menu and hoped it was something I was going to like.

As to the triakontameron – I have not looked at any others yet, and I look forward to hearing your nos. 13 and 27.

And I have found my next triakontameron. They are no.5 'Twilight Phantasms' and no.15 'The Temptress'. I think I will like these two.

Oh, this thing is coming out really well. Earlier I asked Felipe and Andreas to join us but I'd be glad if any other pianists on PS feeling up to the task got involved in this project and added their recording of one or more numbers. I know that David is focused more on Catoire and Bortkiewicz and Pantelis sticks almost exclusively to rags, but I'm sure they could do a wonderful job as well. I don't mean to sound pushy, so forgive me if you feel vexed! It's just exuberance.

I don’t remember exactly. I think it was things with a lot of ‘schnitzel’ at the end. One thing that surprised me was that you mix beer with pop (7-Up, Coke etc.) We don’t do that at all here.

Back to Godowsky – here is a current list showing which numbers are still available. We do need David and Pantelis do step up and take some of these. Maybe Chris, Alfonso, and Andreas can do a few more too? And btw, Alfonso– I am not a boy!

O.k., Monica, first let me try nr. 13 (which I find not so easy at this moment, if I want to play it in the right tempo) and then I´ll look for more. Great idea, if we all collaborate here. I like such projects!

Besides #11-16-30, I like and am going to study #10-12-29. I like very much also #14-20, but Felipe's already taken them. I'm happy he did, because they are probably the most difficult ones.

If this project makes great strides I could also take care of possible leftovers.
