    Hi,

I must be away for awhile due to a medical procedure with necessary recuperation time. But to help keep you entertained in my absence, I leave you this performance of Bach's famous Toccata and Fugue. Link:

I will return as soon as I can.

 It's a bit slow, and should really be performed on period goblets. Otherwise, a respectable performance.

All best David, take care, and do return with a vengeance !

The tempo seemed a little eratic.

That's almost better than all of those domino stunts.

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the good wishes! I'm doing very well and will probably be back much earlier than I expected. I believe the piano will be beckoning me soon. :)

Good! Follow my example: I never stopped playing during my recent ordeal and look at the results.

Did you know that Mozart and Beethoven actually composed works for the Glass [H]armonica invented by Benjamin Franklin? :D

I knew Mozart did, but, to tell you the truth, I had thought it was written for that affair with the wine glasses.

    Hi,

Believe it or not, the glass harmonica is still being made in the U.S., and has been for decades by Finkenbeiner, Inc. in Waltham, Massachusetts.

The glass harp, which uses vertical wine glasses, was actually the ancestor of the glass harmonica which is a series of glass disks mounted on a horizontal spindle. Evidently people still buy and play them.
