Even though the subject line looks like some SPAM ad, I really couldn't believe this when I ran into it:

    www.imslp.org

It's a wiki of free sheet music! Public domain, that is... which pretty much covers every publication up to the 1920's.

Enjoy and submit anything you may have to keep it growing... oh, and by the way, I'm really interested in a piano transcription of Bach's 'Sonatina' from his cantata BWV106, "Gottes Zeit ist die allerbeste Zeit (Trinity)". If any of you happen to have a copy, please let me know... thanks!

What a coincidence; I just came from that site, stumbled on it through a search for a bio of Emile Robert Blanchet (which I did not find). Yes, there's a lot there. Soon, we will never have to purchase PD sheet music again. 8)

And of course there's us, Pianostreet and Gamingforce, although PS is randomly based on requests and Gamingforce is a labyrinth; I've never figured out how to find my way around there...

.Wow thanks for that! It's a lot better organized than most other free sheet music sites, IMO. But that's probably because I'm a Wiki fan :p

Yes, it is absolutely phenomenal! Even has some composers that are not published in the US, that some people were looking for. And absolute treasure. Compiled by Mike Hawley.

Oh my God, I love you!!! Thank you for bringing us this awesome website! Its almost like IMSLP reincarnated!! When I saw all of the composers on that site, I almost screamed.

Now I can finally get all the Faure and Poulenc I wanted, and even more!! I can't thank you enough!

*smooch" - I love you too :p I knew the reaction to the site would be enthusiastic, to say the least.

Seriously, very FEW people knew about this project at MIT. Not all editions are great, but it is VERY useful for hard to find scores.

Oh wow... that website even has the Sorabji's full Opus Clavicembalisticium on it!

Not to mention what appears to be almost 75% of Scriabin's complete piano works!

    OMG! AMAZING!

They even have a ton of Satie!

I know what I'm gonna be doing tonight...

Thanks so much for that link!

I'm one step ahead of you. I already downloaded everything that's terribly important to me. Now I just need to go through and find other pieces that look intresting. I've already gotten some 300 or so pdfs downloaded.

Of course... I could be interpreting your comment the wrong way entirely... and that could lead to embarassing side effects.

Folks, this site is not going anywhere - it is MIT owned and supported - do not worry, be happy! :? :?
