Hello, I have a pleasure to submit "Trois Pieces" by Francis Poulenc. It contains Pastorale, Hymne and well-known Toccata. Hope you will enjoy it. Season's Greetings, Bruno Poulenc - Three Pieces, 1. Pastorale Poulenc - Three Pieces, 2. Hymne Poulenc - Three Pieces, 3. Toccata
These are up. Sorry I can't say anything, because I don't know the music. You sounded good to me, though.
Another tribute to Poulenc's genius and absolute mastery of the piano ! I did not know these pieces either but I know enough about Poulenc to recognize these are expertly performed. A little too overheated in the climax of the Hymne perhaps, but that is personal taste. If I am not mistaken, the Hymne re-uses the opening tune of the Gloria (or perhaps it is the other way around). Top virtuosity overall, especially in that tricky Toccata. Poulenc's piano writing is always demanding even in seemingly simple pieces. I guess this is a professional studio recording ?
Thank you very much for the comments! Yes, it's the same material as in "Gloria". However, what's really "behind" is Stravinsky's Hymn from Serenade in A. I will transmit this compliment to my good old Minidisc
Poulenc These are new to me, but I enjoyed them. You played them very well, I'm sure. I also enjoyed visiting your website. You are also quite a composer. I really liked your Jazz Toccata and the Prelude. Keep up the good work! I will listen to more when I have more time.
Extremely well performed and refreshment for my mind! My limited experience with Poulenc prevents me from a more detailed flood of comments but I cannot think anything else than that you have mastered these close to perfection.
