    Nice quote :D

I'm much impressed by seemingly effortless cavalcades of notes. To say you play this as to the manner born is like saying that a sports car runs like a charm. Might as well be stating the bleeding obvious.

Apart from that I have not got anything sensible to say. It's not my style of music and I have to admit that, though I love his Requiem and Pezzi Sacri, Verdi's famous opera melodies never did anything for me. Maybe it's their immensely popular appeal that turns me off. I mean, football hooligans singing Nabucco ? Give me a break. But good work, and another great addition for your next opera CD.

Thanks - to impress you through virtuosity, empty or otherwise, is no mean feat.

Funny you should say that about Verdi: I was reading Earl Wild's memoirs and he expressed not dissimilar sentiments, describing the good bits as "inspired corn".
