Hello Julian and welcome to Piano Society. Please tell us little something about yourself. Also, the two recordings you submitted are not too terribly old, but you should know that we prefer recent recordings. And recordings have to be submitted in less than 192 kbps. These here are 320 which makes the files way to large and take too long to download. Hopefully you can convert both files and re-submit them.

    Hello,
    thank you for the welcome.
I will try to find a way to convert the recordings.
Thank you for the hint about the size.
I was never part in a Platform like this so I will need to learn a few things.

My name is Julian Gorus ,33 Years old, and I live in Germany.
I studied in Weimar where I made my Concert exam.
I won a few piano competions and as a living I play concerts and give private Lessons.

The idea to open classical music to a broader audience is great, and the piano Society seems a very good way.

    Best wishes
    Julian

Hello Julian, I don't know this rhapsody as well as the "normal" first 15, but your playing sounds impressive and well controlled. Clear, sparkling passagework too. For a live recording, very good!

Okay good, I see you've already converted one of your files. Large files consume more bandwidth and we try to conserve bandwidth so our costs don't go up. That's why files have to be mp3s and under 192 kbps. I have no time now to listen to your recordings, but I see from the other comments that your playing is very nice. So go ahead and convert your other file, and in the meantime why don't you look around the forum so you can get to know us a little. :)

    Hi Julian,

I've merged your second topic, with the smaller file, into the existing topic (where you should have posted it to start with). Unfortunately it has inserted it somewhere in the middle, which looks a bit strange. First time I did this kind of thing and I yet have to get the hang of it.

This is playing of this highest order, the massive applause well earned. I cannot imagine it being played much better.
Curiously, what coincidence, I was just last week listening to Cziffra's take on this one. He plays about twice as many notes as you do, but that does not really make it better music.

When merging threads, you might have an option to choose which thread will be merged into which (so that the OP of the preferred thread remains the OP), but typically aside from that posts are organized in chronological order by post time whether or not you like it that way. I'm not sure how this software works though.

You know, oddly Cziffra's performance of Chopin 25/11 is just about my favorite out there. There are soooo many things in it that are just objectively bad - I mean, really bad - but I admire his energy and his facility. I wish I had it, so I could do different things with it.

    Well hello all,

thanks a lot for your comments.
It`s allways nice to hear positive things :D
I allready heard a lot of music here on PS but haven´t made it to write something, but i am working on it.

But about Cziffra, I just find him absoluty great. His Rhapsodies are just fabulous.
I saw DVDs where he plays and it is just fantastic.

I'm just listening to this, my favourite of the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies. Your playing is wonderful. You show just what can be done with this piece.
In fact I'm struggling to think of a performance that I have enjoyed more than yours.

I'm now hearing applause at the end which tells me it was a live performance... I'm speechless.
    Well done!
