Hi there, after a long time off because of many things to do (I know, it is the case for most of us ... ), I am back and I propose you a composition of mine. This is a piece I have composed three years ago. Recorded on a Yamaha C6 piano, at Studio26 (Antibes, France). The file has been very compressed to fit in the maximum format of 10Mo. Nevertheless, I hope it remains audible, and that you will enjoy it! Your comments are welcome, of course! Best, Bertrand
Hello Bertrand, Finally you are revealing your first own composition. Great date for PianoSociety ! Seriously, I enjoyed listening this piece. I found it has a quite improvised character... Was it written from an improvisation, or did you compose it another way ? I also found late XIXth century influences (Fauré, Brahms, the first Scriabin...). Pianistically it is perfectly executed, with much dynamics and subtility (you seem quite at ease with the composer ). Congratulations ! We are keen to hear other compositions. All the best,
Dear Bertrand: I really enjoyed this your composition also! We have made a composer page for you to feature it on Piano Society. Would you able to write a blurb to go on your composer page? For instance François' page is available here as an example: http://www.pianosociety.com/pages/larrard/ Richard
Hello François and Richard, thank you for your mails and encouragements! For François, no, the piece is not an improvisation. Well, to go on in a composition, I am generally on my piano, searching for ideas through improvising like attempts. I very scarcely go on far from my piano (it happens nevertheless at times). But it is not a full improvisation, that I would record and write out after. For Richard, thank you for havng made a page on the basis of only one composition! In fact, I planify to submit some other compositions, the next one coming soon! I will write a short text as soon as I can. Thank you again for all. Best, Bertrand
