This is a section from Satie's suite for 4 hands, recorded live at my school's recital series. Again, Marco Leclerc is the other pianist (he's on bottom, I'm on top). It's a really fun piece, so I hope you enjoy.

This is the first time I heard a 4-hand piece by Satie. It sounded confident to me. Nice job.

This is a prime example of why Satie is a truly great composer.

Some people think his music is just one big joke, or not particularly well-written.

Well... They should listen to this :p . This is just one of the many great examples of Satie as a wondeful composer.

The piece was very well played, and I enjoyed it thouroughly. I would comment more... but I'm really not good at dissasembling recordings and analyzing them... especially of pieces I'm not intamately familiar with.

But a good job nevertheless! :D

Thanks for your kind words, but I don't see Satie as being overrated - quite the contrary. I think he's under rated. Although people usually remember him for his 'gymnopodies', his 4 hand suites and other piano works (remember, there are about 5 or 6 discs worth of his music for piano) are very charming, and although I agree with his music not bringing the sensation it once did when it was written, it's still a very different and entertaining music. I hope, if anyone out there doesn't know much of his music, you'll listen to his Gnossiennes and all of his 4 hand suites. They're some of the most charming and innovative music out there.
